This week was bizarre and my trees are barren.
I worked a strange set of hours this week… Monday was semi-normal, Tuesday 7am to midnight, Thursday ran kind of late, and then no lunch on Friday. I suppose the most noteworthy aspect of all those abnormalities is I enjoyed it. My coworkers are beyond nice and make the hours evaporate away. The work itself is becoming easier and more fluid. I have a long way to go to be at the speed of my predecessor but I’m making progress.
On the home front – I spent much of my time outside of work with my maminals. Toby, Lavinia and Oliver are adjusting to my schedule. I worry most about Oliver. He is so skittish. My meecers are doing well. Yesterday was tank cleaning. Mia is a bit chunky so I’m being more diligent on their food mixture. I don’t want to jeopardize their health. Seeley is as loving as ever. It’s impossible to put into words how his fuzzy lil face can warm my heart.
I watched “Clockwork Orange” last night for the first time. What a bizarre commentary on the world. It’s funny how a movie created back in the 1970s can still shed light on today’s world. I plan on watching it again if the guy who lent me the DVD doesn’t might me holding onto it for a bit longer.
That brings up another recent realization. I find it marvelous and reassuring that one person can bring a smile to my face despite the challenges I face. A silly comment or short joke really makes a difference. One smile can remind me that I shouldn’t worry or let stress in. He’s … different but so familiar. I’ll leave it at that.
I have intentions of posting to my DIYSara blog soon. I feel so guilty that it has sat untouched since July. Perhaps I’ll work on the write-up during the football game.
Peace and love. – everyone should find some in their days.
